Romar was founded in 1997 to supply the European yacht industry with first-class marine hardware. To realize this objective, Romar collaborated with several key players in the industry, and used its joint expertise to supply in-boom furling systems (Leisure Furl), tailor made mast and rigging solutions, mast refits (e.g. S.Y. Phocea), and custom made deck equipment. Soon, the products and services of Romar were recognized and applied by shipyards such as Lürssen, Hakvoort, Heli, Jongert, and X-Yachts. Through the course of its history, Romar has proven to be an innovative and reliable supplier of marine harware, both business-to-business and business-to-consumer.

Today, Romar is the sole supplier in Europe to provide truly functional, durable and aesthetically pleasing in-boom reefing systems. Recently, Romar introduced its new aluminium rolled plate and composite version of the Leisure Furl systems, to minimize the use of stainless steel and to eliminate the occasion of electrolysis and corrosion. These capabilities and assets now enable Romar to deliver three-dimensionally tapered in-boom reefing systems at very competitive prices.
Romar also uses its manufacturing capabilities and knowledge to produce tailor made aluminium rolled plate masts. The use of separate aluminium rolled plates enables an optimal build-up of the moments of inertia and minimize weight at the top of the mast.
Next to in-boom reefing systems, masts and rigging, Romar trades Bamar furling and reefing mechanisms, Tef-Gel anti-corrosion lubricants, and OH deck equipment, all of which are regularly used items in the production of our rigs.
